Water Cooled Long Blocks
All engines are align-bored. The flywheel is machined, and installed with end play set. Engine includes all gaskets and some hard to find hardware needed for installation. Front pulley can be installed at customer's request. Each engine is bench checked for oil pressure, cylinder compression and oil leaks. The engine is then packed in a crate for safe shipping and comes with instructions and a return shipping invoice. Shipping charges are extra.

With a good rebuildable core the engine includes new heads, new pistons and cylinders, reground OEM cam, rebuilt rockers, new lifters, rebuilt Boston Bob rods and new oil pump.
A 2.1 engine can be installed to replace original 1.9. These engines are typically set up as if they were 1.9's. We do not take 1.9's in trade for 2.1 engines. All upgrades must pay full 2.1 core charge.
2.1 Long Block Vanagon 1986-91

With a good rebuildable core the engine includes new 2.1 heads, new pistons and cylinders, reground 2.1 OEM cam, rebuilt rockers, new lifters, rebuilt Boston Bob rods and new oil pump.
2.1 Stock Valve Upgrade
Upgrade: $2725 + core
Upgrades for the 2.1 consist of:
• increased valve spring pressure
• high flow valve job
• minor porting
• and increased piston skirt clearance
2.1 "Big Valve" Upgrade
Upgrade: $3250 + core
This package offers the same upgrades as above with the addition of larger valves. This package will boost over all power.

w/ new heads and upgraded seats and valves
Upgrade: $2500 + core
With good rebuildable core and heads this engine has the upgraded heads which include new chrome-stem valves, guides and sleeves. Minor porting to increase air flow. Barrel spacers instead of head gaskets. Connecting rods are notched to increase oil to the pistons for lower temperatures. "High lift" cam for better breathing and cooler head temps. New cylinders,pistons and German lifters.
Upgrade to a two liter hydraulic for $150 additional

These engines include new heads with new valves, guides and springs, new pistons & cylinders rebuilt rods, alignbored case, reground cam with new lifters, valve covers, and bails. New drain plate and strainer, new oil pump with new pump cover. The compression ratio is adjusted to 6.9 to 1. Shipping charges are extra.
